Each Sorority will be assigned a Captain for the week to be defended from girls in other sororities, as well as to create an attack strategy against other teams’ captains.
Each captain will carry a sword with him during the duration of the game and it is yer objective to steal that sword from another sorority's captain. If you're successful, the captain will give yeh a coin (booty); each girl present at the time of the sword capture will each receive one coin, so strategy tip #2: Traveling in groups awards yer sorority with more coins.
Each coin represents 1pt. toward yer total tally.
In addition to the captains running around, one member of our fraternity will be chosen as the Flying Dutchman each night! For 1 hour, this scurvy lad will be givin' out 5 times as many coins to the first sorority that catches him. After being caught he will disappear for another 24 hours! You will have to be quick! You have have to be ruthless! And as usual, you will need to have your wits about you!
Taking pictures with the Flying Dutchman will also GREATLY increase the value of any picture sent in for the day. All of these terms taken into account, making this capture could prove to be a real game breaker if yeh use yer wits correctly! Be on the lookout for for his picture posted along with the Booty clue!
Each Sorority's captain will also be assigned "deckhands," composed of members from our Fall “Chi” pledge class, who will assist you in finding other captain's to set up ambushes to steal their swords. You can find the names of your deckhands on the facebook event.
Picture of the DayEach sorority will be given all the necessary tools/info to come up with some creative kidnaps during the week. Kidnapping captains at their house, outside their classrooms, even during their meals at Brandywine or Commons are fair game. Kidnapping captains should be used to gain points for “Picture of the Day”. Each sorority can take pictures with captains and submit them to: pikesofthecaribbean2011@gmail.com. All pictures for each day must be submitted by Noon the next day (pictures taken the night before or during a kidnapping can be used the next day as long as it is submitted by noon). The best pictures of the day will receive additional points:
A pirate may search their whole life for treasure; some are successful however most end up spending eternity sailing the high seas. It is the ruthless and saavy pirate that find themselves with riches beyond their wildest dreams.
In the year 1868 a PIKE captain by the name of Littleton Waller Tazewell came across a treasure so bountiful that other bandits chased him across every sea known to man. To protect his treasure he hid it across the vast area of Newport Beach and Irvine, California. Legend has it that he wrote riddles down to remind himself the whereabouts of his beloved booty. These riddles have been passed down through generations of PIKE Captains; it has been said that the key to unlocking this treasure lies in the mind of a beautiful and sophisticated sorority woman. This is why the Captains of Pi Kappa Alpha need your help in unlocking this mystery, only then can we mend the broken wiiings of those who have lost the ability to fly.
Riddles will be released here at 10pm every night. The first sorority to show up at the riddles location will be awarded 75 pts. All runners up sororities who show up at the location but do not receive the chest will be awarded 25pts.
